Young Africans seek newpolitical order

Youths across Africa appear relentless in their pursuit Y of political inclusion, thanks to advanced technology and the social media. The youth demographic is growing rapidly and the youths have become more conscious about their current political situation, and more importantly, the future.

While many African youths have managed to give full expression to their ideas, latent talents and other personal ambitions through entertainment, sports and business, a large number of them seeking political opportunities are not so lucky. Thanks to the sit-tight and the greedy nature of the older generation in political leadership positions who have managed to keep the youths somewhat in political limbo.

The ever burgeoning youth population across Africa represents massive opportunities and simultaneous tremendous challenges for African business and politics. There is an urgent need for massive youth inclusion in politics as well as the creation of ubiquitous job opportunities.

African governments have to be more open and accountable and they need to get the youths more involved in governance. With about 54 independent countries making up the African continent and a very huge population, Africa is strategically placed right at the centre of the world. Blessed with rich human and natural resources, Africa still, ironically, rank low in global economic indices.
